Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely

We use Optimizely for testing our website. It is used across the organization, including marketing and production.
  • Implementing test changes.
  • Managing multiple tests.
  • Understanding statistical significance.
  • Onboarding the tool requires a lot of support.
  • "Offline events" is still in beta.
  • Time saved on experiment implementation.
  • We've seen an increased number of signups through tests.
Best use case: web experimentation for simple metrics, such as CTR.
Less appropriate: testing on offline metrics, such as revenue.

Using Optimizely

Onboarding was probably the hardest part of Optimizely -- the product is complicated, and one has to go through trainings to learn how to use it. But once you finish the course, everything becomes straightforward, and the product became an incredible tool. Overall, it is a highly usable product.

Optimizely Reliability

Optimizely is a highly scalable product, which can be used across many different teams. It is easy to manage and schedule tests, and it allows us to create "swim lanes" for different teams to ensure safe accesses. We still need a dedicated experiment team to manage this tool, but they were able to scale this product tremendously across teams.
