Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

We have several business applications that need to reside within the geographic boundaries of a country, we were looking for a HIPAA Certified cloud provider with a fully operational data center in that specific country, luckily, oracle did have a cloud data center in the country. It was our first experience with Oracle Cloud, we needed a few virtual machines with network security, VPN, and load balancing and backup, oracle cloud did provide the needed for us and it was overall a pleasant experience.
  • Exists in unusual countries/regions, this is a big advantage
  • Data center uptime is excellent, in almost 3 years, it never went down, not even once
  • Performance is also great, we never experienced performance issues with the resources provided
  • Simplicity, the admin portal is difficult to use
  • Pricing/Billing details, it was difficult for us to understand the billing model
  • Pricing Cost Estimator is also exceedingly difficult to understand/relate, overall, it is hard to know how much something will cost on Oracle Cloud
  • We would've lost an important contract without Oracle Cloud due to their regional availability
  • Oracle cloud costs are hard to predict in the first year due to weak billing/estimations, causing difficulties in ROI calculations
  • Our ROI in the region we used was over 70% better than other cloud providers in the same region, Oracle Cloud was a huge advantage in this regard.
Honestly, It is much easier to use and operate your workloads on other cloud providers than Oracle, however, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure main advantage is its existence in some different countries/regions where others haven't established a foothold yet, making its cloud infrastructure a compelling choice for customers in those regions. I would also give Oracle Cloud Infrastructure availability/uptime an A+, we never experienced downtime! once the infrastructure is prepared and configured, it remains up and online for years, a pleasant outcome!

Do you think Oracle Cloud Infrastructure delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's feature set?

Yes

Did Oracle Cloud Infrastructure live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Oracle Cloud Infrastructure again?

Yes

Oracle Cloud is generally good, it would make sense for people familiar with and dependant on Oracle Technologies to use Oracle cloud to host databases, apps, and services, Additionally, their existence in unusual regions can give a governance advantage and reduce latency in certain scenarios (depending on the region you prefer to host your workloads in). In other cases, you may want to opt-out of oracle cloud due to complexity if you are not familiar with oracle technologies, the learning curve is difficult when compared to other cloud providers

Actually, the support experience with oracle is frustrating, the support agent are not well trained, it takes so much time to get the support, i couldn't even it to the premium support page, the team responds slowly and my support contacts ended up trying to refering me to others support people inside oracle.
Unfortunately, no, my contact with oracle support is always poor, it takes a lot of time to resolve the cases and in many cases it just feels like they want to close the case not support me resolving my issue.
