Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Amongst many other reasons, we use OCI for its low price of computing and storage, for the possibility to use this database service as pay-per-use. This means for a small project, or projects with a short life span, we don't need to pay a Database License in advance. Even the flexibility of the Cloud is applied to the cost of a database license.

I don't have numbers, but the possibility to pay a fee every month versus the whole expensive license of the database, for us, is a life saver

Support Rating

So far the support has been very good. Especially from the team (Malaga) that helped us create the tenant. They spent a lot of time helping customers, with the design of the solution. They are always very responsive in helping with cost estimation and technical questions.

It's friendly enough to use, and there is, at least so far, a lot of documentation, courses, and videos that can help with understanding how to use the OCI console.

For us, it is very good.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you use Oracle Database but you want to save money by not buying the license (especially for little projects) then OCI is perfect. No other cloud provider can beat OCI on this point. Another thing, I received very big support from the Oracle team that helped me create the first tenant. They were very helpful.
