Overall Satisfaction with Oracle ERP Cloud

So far we have rolled out Oracle ERP Cloud to two of our locations in Europe. We have quite a few subsidiaries throughout Europe—each of which have used their own ERP solution in the past. We are working to standardize the ERP system, so we will have a common application being used for all of them.
  • The product has very clear responsibilities defined.
  • The user interface is quite intuitive.
  • The application is easy to navigate.
  • There are frequent bugs our team has identified.
  • We use Oracle's E-Business Suite in the US, and the flows and usability of the two applications is very different.
  • There are quarterly updates to the application which result in a fair amount of changes requiring substantial testing efforts.
  • So far we are still troubleshooting quite a few issues even though we launched 6+ months ago.
  • Eventually, I expect a significant ROI once things are operating smoothly.
  • It will be wonderful once we have all of our foreign subsidiaries using the same system -- one that we are familiar with for support reasons.
Oracle's eBusiness Suite has been around for a very long time and as such is a much more mature product than Oracle's ERP Cloud. But the ERP Cloud has a lot of potential, especially since that is where Oracle's focus will be for on-going development efforts. I expect it will become the new gold standard for ERP systems.
The application itself has the potential to be a powerhouse. It can do almost anything you would expect of a full ERP system. The problem we've experienced is that the product offering is still relatively young in its development stage. By that I mean there are quite a few kinks which need to be worked out in order for it to be a smoothly operating tool.

Using Oracle ERP Cloud

20 - Oracle ERP Cloud is primarily used by the employees at the European subsidiaries of our company. Prior to ERP Cloud, each location used their own ERP system, but starting last year we are trying to get them all using the same system. They work mostly on Supply Chain, Warehouse/Inventory Management and Financials.
5 - Within our internal IT department in our company, we only have approximately 5 employees working to support Oracle ERP Cloud. But we also hire 3rd party companies (vendor partners) to assist with support since they tend to have more experience working with and supporting ERP Cloud through both implementations and managed services.
  • tracking financials within our subsidiaries
  • managing inventory at our remote warehouses
  • processing work orders through to fulfillment
  • We have created a lot of customized reports for our employees.
  • We hope to be able to use the application for forecasting.
This is the product we have chosen to standardize the ERP system throughout our European subsidiaries. We had been operating blindly with each location using their own ERP system. We relied on them to accurately report to us in the US. But now that we are beginning to roll out ERP Cloud, we have much better visibility into day-to-day operations.
