Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Exadata Database Machine

Oracle Exadata Database Machines is being used for one of our mission-critical databases supporting the revenue cycle department. It has given a great lift to our batch processing which runs every single day. It improved performance and run times of BI reports.
  • Cell smart-scans.
  • Storage indexing.
  • OS monitoring.
  • SNMP configuration.
  • Integration with OEM.
  • 50% lift on the performance.
  • 50% lift on the backups and recovery.
  • 80% for the batch performance.
We have done a proof of concept for both and have seen a lift with our batch processing and all other aspects with Oracle Exadata. Oracle Exadata storage servers have been playing a key role with the overall success compared to other products.
It is best suited for environments where performance, consolidation and scalability plays a big role. It might be less appropriate for small scale applications/companies since the investment is very big.
