All production services are using Oracle JDK.

Pros and Cons

Rarely run into critical problems
Performance is better in the latest offering (JDK 11)

Support is not very responsive
Documentation for low level APIs need improvements

Return on Investment

Performance is much better by using their latest offering (Java 11)
However, on the other hand migrating to the latest version is a big effort.

Alternatives Considered

Azul Systems

Azul Zing might perform better for some use cases, but its advantage becomes much narrower in JDK 11. Operational cost is much higher for Azul Zing, also price is higher.

Support Rating

We don't leverage its support much since problems don't occur very often, but overall it's OK.
