Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

We use Parallels Remote Application Server to deploy our billing solution to multiple users across our infrastructure. Parallels Remote Application Server allows us to launch the application by simply putting a shortcut on the end user's desktop that creates the remote connection and launches the application automatically. That allows for quick deployment to multiple computers and saves time and effort.
  • Simplifies connecting to a user's environment.
  • Quickly deploy new applications.
  • Licensing database has had some issues that kept users from connecting and the workaround is a bit tedious.
  • Tech support can be a bit rude.
  • Saved on the cost of desktops since they didn't need much processing power to run the applications.
Parallels Remote Application Server saved our company's limited IT staff time by simplifying the deployment of new applications. The interface is simple to use and required little to no training for the end users.
I only needed to call support one time, however, the experience was not great. The support specialist was rude and spoke to me quite condescendingly. Also, the "fix" was a clunky walkaround that was not even a permanent fix and would have to be applied multiple times.

Parallels Remote Application Server is best suited for an environment where you want to deploy new applications to multiple users at once. Just install the application on the server and select what user group needs access. The shortcut for the new application will appear in the user 2X client software with no additional installation needed on the local PCs.
