Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

We used and advised clients to use it for centralized access to our general ledger software, line of business apps, and files.
  • Access from anywhere with an Internet connection.
  • Easy to manage.
  • Excellent price/performance.
  • Managing non-standard printers (large format - KIP printers, HP plotters.
  • Easier setup for MFA.
  • Easier setup for non-standard display sizes.
  • Allowed us to retain clients who have remote workers.
  • Allowed us to attract clients who have remote workers.
  • Due to fast learning curve, allowed us to bring to market quickly.
Parallels RAS is orders of magnitude easier to set up than the Citrix products and therefore increase our speed of execution by months.
The easy-to-use console allowed us to learn and implement the product within a week or so. Competitors would have taken weeks or months. It's easy to define apps and integrate with Active Directory in order to assign users/groups.
We used the HTML5 client for testing only. It allowed our engineers to verify systems were working as designed from a variety of platforms without the hassle of installing software. We had a few users who used the HTML5 client, but most used the full (installed) client on Windows or Mac.
Parallels' agnostic approach to underlying Hypervisors simplifies the purchasing decision because it eliminates any worries about whether the software will perform as designed. We have used on VMware, XenServer, and Hyper-V. All worked just fine.
Use of MFA is non-negotiable for access to our own or client's internal resources. It's our experience that this has foiled all nefarious attempts at accessing ours and our clients' systems.
We have not had to use support much over the years, but when we have it's been prompt, courteous, and effective.

Yes

Would you buy Parallels Remote Application Server (Parallels RAS) again?

Yes

Much faster learning curve to set up and manage for SMBs than competitors; can be implemented on less server infrastructure than is required by competitors. We've used it successfully on implementations of between 5 and 20 users, but not larger (not because it wouldn't work but because we have not had the opportunity).
