Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

We have different versions of certain applications that need to be available all at once - streaming these via Parallels Remote Application Server has provided the flexibility needed to meet our SLA. Additionally, certain web applications need a certain browser to work correctly and having the ability to force the browser to open the application has been invaluable to us.
  • OS independent; work from various devices
  • Does not need a plugin to work as it works in HTML5 just fine
  • Redundancy model using HALB
  • VDI out of the box without the need for additional software
  • Ability to Shadow sessions
  • Ability to better finger print client OS and version and deny access if client OS is obsolete. This worked in windows 7 but in windows 10 - it does not detect os level
  • Ability to customize the GUI/frontend more than currently possible
  • Work from rollout was easy because of Parallels Remote Application Server scaling features
  • End-users are pleases with their experience
  • The ability to share pc desktops for certain users means they can get to their office devices with ease
Compared to other offerings, including Citrix and MS plain RDS - this product provides a different level of experience. Its load balancing capabilities are simple to roll out, and an entire farm can be up and running in hours, NOT days. Its OS independence and minimum resource usage, along with its RDS server optimization policies, make it very resource efficient.
VDI out of the box is what we refer to RAS VDI feature. Spinning up new AD joined machines is simple to set up.
The ability to work strictly in the browser via HTML 5 means a lot because, in most organizations, users do not get to install the client. We often roll it out in HTML5. It works great no matter what device and the modern browser are used as the experience is very "uniform" across devices.
We heavily rely on our hypervisor partners and products, as most organizations now do. It gives us the ability to virtualize workloads and have copes replicated to DR sites which are tested regularly for availability. Being able to break the Parallels Remote Application Server license into multiple copies means I can have a DR site being tested without taking down the production.
With release 18, Parallels Remote Application Server has a much better GUI for importing and using SSL certificates which everyone should be using. Along with its constantly expanding list of MFA providers, it has enabled us to secure our infrastructure much better than before. The ability to apply policies to AD groups or individual users makes it very flexible in determining which users should be able to make use of which available features.
Everyone I have talked to at Parallels has been extremely knowledgeable about all my cases (there have not been that many), usually resolved during the first sessions.
