Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

I use Paychex Flex for our payroll, health insurance administration, and our 401K. Our company is small and it is used for our entire company. Using Paychex Flex gives me confidence with payroll because I do not have any background in doing payroll. Also, Paychex Flex does the 401Kfor us, another aspect that I have no background in.
  • Paychex Flex has a very easy to use payroll reporting system. This is very user-friendly.
  • Paychex Flex also makes it very easy to add new employees to the payroll system.
  • We recently turned over the health insurance administration to Paychex Flex. It was a pretty easy transition. I now have people available for any of my questions.
  • Paychex Flex also makes the 401K process very easy and seamless. It is nice to be able to offer this to our employees while having experts to answer any questions.
  • Paychex Flex has definitely improved over the years with payroll reporting. I used to have to call in my payroll, now they have a very user-friendly online system. In regards to the payroll reporting, I do not see anything in particular that they can improve on.
  • Sometimes I have had to call about questions with the 401K and have had long hold times. I think that they could improve on that.
  • I have had an occasional question with the health care that when emailed someone I did not get a timely response. When I have made a phone call I tend to get quicker results.
  • Paychex Flex saves me time and energy with doing my payroll. I know that our employees will get the paychecks on time and correctly done every pay period.
  • Paychex Flex gives me peace of mind with all of the tax aspects of payroll. It is great that Paychex handles all of the documentation, etc for the tax aspect of payroll. I have no background in accounting, so I am so glad that I have professionals handling this for me!
  • Paychex Flex was so helpful when taking over my health care for our business. Again, I do not have a background in health administration. The person I worked with offered us several plans so we could choose the best for our employees.
Positively - I have used the reports that track each employees pay. I have also used the tracking for the 401K to see who is signed up
When emailing my specialist I almost always have my question answered quickly. I have also had to call her and if she is not available, Paychex can transfer me to another associate to handle my questions. Occasionally I have had to call with a 401K question and have had to wait on hold for a long time. So that could definitely be improved upon.
Paychex Flex is the only payroll company that we have ever used. Therefore, I cannot say how they compare to any other company.

I am not a very tech-savvy person. Paychex Flex offers tutorials to help with new functions to make everything very user-friendly. I feel like they are always looking to improve the system to make it more user-friendly and efficient. I have experienced this over the years of using Paychex Flex. They have gone from me calling in my payroll on a designated time and day, to me being able to go in and do everything online. I have a date/time frame that I need to get it done by. However, I can also do my payroll early if I have a conflict with my day/time. Two years ago, I was going out of the country for an extended vacation, and I was able to do my payroll before I left, so I did not have to worry about it while out of the country. That was a big bonus!
I think if you are a small business Paychex Flex is great! My husband started his business 7 years ago and I needed to jump in and help him. I had no background in payroll or 401K admin, so I needed all the help I could get! Paychex Flex offers many products and services to get a small business started for an affordable price! I'm sure Paychex is good for larger businesses as well, I just don't have experience with that. There are so many products that they offer, we just have not needed to use them in our business.

Relationship with Paychex, Inc.

When we initially started my husband's business the aspect of payroll was very scary to me. Our salesperson explained things well and made everthything very easy to use.
They were always available for any questions.

  • Going forward I will have a very limited use of Paychex Flex. My husband has sold his business so I no longer need to do payroll. We however, are keeping our account open for my contribution to 401K.

Paychex makes it easy and affordable to keep our account active. My husband will still do some work under his old company therefore enabling me to pay into 401K

My husband recently sold his business and I had to reach out to many of the Paychex specialists to help me with the transition. Everyone was very helpful and made the transition easy.
