Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

Paychex Flex allows us to process payroll for our employees. It helps prepare reports, auto-processes our W2s automatically and assists in our quarterly filing. It's helpful having a team of experts who can help you in varying capacities. If you mess up, they can assist. Have a tax question? They have a team for that! It offers a portal for employees to view their paystubs and make adjustments to their personal information. It also allows us the opportunity to deliver pay electronically via direct deposit, and we have the option to dole out electronic W2s.

  • They're up to date on all the local laws/regulations and apply them to payroll so you don't need to think about it
  • The site goes down sometimes. It is rare but it does happen
  • You have a training session at the beginning of your account but I think more training tools could be very helpful
  • Paychex Flex has allowed us to save money and go paperless in lots of ways especially particular to W2s
  • Paychex Flex is easy to use for our employees. It's saved time in-house because employees can update their personal information all by themselves!
  • Paychex Flex saves our internal team even more time by automatically preparing reports for each payroll week, quarterly filing, etc. They also store it in their portal for your access.
The assistance I have received at Paychex Flex has been stellar. You're assigned an account representative from the jump, who only works on a small handful of cases. You have the option to speak with someone immediately and they are great about walking you through how to do or fix something.
I have used both ADP Workforce Now and ADP Run for smaller companies. ADP is a great program and does what it does well but it does not compare to Paychex Flex. When I call Paychex Flex, I'm routed to my account representative immediately. If my rep isn't available, I'm transferred to another person immediately. ADP lacks in that area; if you need something from them, you'll be on hold for hours. Paychex Flex also is very employee-friendly which is another area where ADP could improve. Lastly is the cost. Cost is a huge thing for a company of our size. Paychex Flex isn't cheap but it's worth every penny and you get more for your dollar.

Paychex Flex is extremely user-friendly. Most things in their portal are able to be located using common sense but they have a handy search tool that allows you to ask questions. It will route you to the appropriate form/section you need. People of varying tech-ability have used it from our company and no one has had an issue.
Paychex Flex is great for employers, both large and small, to help process their payroll. It automatically generates reports, allows employees to be paid via direct deposit and access their stubs and W2s electronically. It has worked well for us both on the employer and employee end. I cannot think of an instance where it wouldn't be appropriate. It is a perfect all-in-one payroll processing service, with team support built in.

Relationship with Paychex, Inc.

The representatives were extremely easy to work with - from the original sales call to the implementation. They answered all of our questions at length, sometimes twice, and even showed us how to process our first payroll.
Very easy - they have a dedicated line of teammembers to assist you at any point. You are assigned a direct point of contact but in the event that person is out for the day or busy, there is also a number you can call to be assisted by anyone available. I have worked with other major payroll companies before and none have the personal touch like Paychex does.
Paychex Flex helped us to keep our costs low - they helped us decide what we did and did not need from their program and helped create a package to suit our needs. For example, we don't need onboarding services - we do this all in-house. While this is something they offer, we did not include that in our package.
No advice or tips really - just keep a good relationship with your account manager. I have always found them to be very helpful and my current account manager has helped out in very dire situations. I have called him in a panic and he is always the voice of reason. The only advice I would have is to use the resources given to you!
