Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

Our entire organization uses it for multistate payroll (Ohio and Indiana). It processes payroll for our organization.
  • Customer service. Agents usually get back to me within the day.
  • Tax service. When have issues with tax penalties, Paycor reps research and get back with answers quickly.
  • 401k. Works with our agent, Principal to automatically credit deductions and add employer matching per pay period.
  • Reports not working correctly. Quite often, when I run a report, it comes back with no information available or an error. When I run it again with the same info, it works.
  • The website crashes frequently. When processing payroll, quite often the website crashes and kicks me out of the payroll that I am working on.
  • Reports are not easy to personalize. We sometimes need specific info on wages etc. Paycor reports do not just allow you to do a ytd report on all wages. Must go in and add or delete wage categories individually.
  • The website crashing causes extra time to be used for payroll.
  • The reports not useful for certain instances, especially for gross wages. Have to specify which wages , vac, sick, OT. It should just let you report on all wages automatically.
  • Vacation accrual should be on payroll period, not check date. Have to manually go in each year and update each employee's accrual to match our records.
  • Salaried employees do not automatically have an hourly rate in paycor. This causes issues when running vacation accrual reports which are based on hourly rates.
I’m not in HR or don’t handle payroll.
Website issues and reports that are easily changeable or are confusing to set up for individual instances.
  • Well suited for simple payroll.
  • Not suited for complicated ones.

Using Paycor

4 - HR manager, HR representative, treasurer, and payroll processor.
2 - Payroll processor, hr rep. Payroll processor processes payroll each week.
  • payroll processing
  • tax reporting and tax payments being paid
  • direct deposit for employees
  • None. We are using other software and services for all other hr and payroll functions.
We have used Paycor for several years and we do not wish to learn new software. Paycor has been working for us so far.

Ease of use. Paycor was used by previous employee and she knew how to use it. We use it because it did not require additional training time on other software.
