Overall Satisfaction with Paycor

I use Paycor to administer benefits, PTO, time and attendance, and process payroll. I also use their reporting for all of these functions. One of the biggest hurdles we face with Paycor is that for some of our groups the time feature doesn't include everything we need to properly record time-based on our CBA and makes importing to the perform payroll side difficult or impossible. There is a lot of outside managing to do. On the benefits side, I don't think we got a proper understanding of Benefits Advisor when transitioning to our new platform, and the customer service portion kept giving conflicting responses when I would call in with problems.
  • tax updates
  • department organization/structure
  • reporting
  • increased functionality in Time
  • a smoother connection between TOD and perform payroll

Do you think Paycor delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Paycor's feature set?

Yes

Did Paycor live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paycor go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paycor again?

Yes

  • allows for flexibility with reporting
  • provides insight access
Our HR and/or payroll team has saved time, but I'm not sure how much. - I was not part of the implementation process of Paycor, but to my understanding, the customer support with Paycor has been more attentive than our previous provider so that has saved us time. However, there were periods of time when my tickets would not get responses and I spent a long time on the phone following up or waiting for feedback.
I find Paycor easy to navigate and user-friendly. The payroll processing and pay grid navigation I find particularly useful. I think the lack of integration between time and performance and some of the delays in file feeds make it more difficult to manage and require a lot of back and forth between different areas of the website.
We use Ceridian for our Canadian employees, and I think they both have pros and cons when you compare them. The reality is we don't use day force for many employees, so it's not easy to say one is better than the other. Ceridian is more integrated between payroll and time, but I think processing in Paycor is less tedious.
I think Paycor does a good job for small-medium sized companies, even if they are have locations spread out to different sites/locations. When adding new locations and taxes they do a great job of updating things and showing you what taxes need to be added based on a site. However, if you have particularly complex punch rules, or semi-monthly hourly employees, you will face difficulties and it may not be well-suited.
