Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity to recruit, onboard, and complete payroll in our organization. We have three warehouses in Iowa with hours apart each warehouse. The ability to recruit and send onboarding for completion via email to employees who are miles away has been beneficial with onboarding. The necessity to call potential employees to the office to complete onboarding paperwork has been eliminated. There is also no time spent keeping paper records organized anymore! Paylocity keeps active files as well as terminated employee files. Paylocity is overall new to our company, so there are still some employees who leave who have to have their paper files moved from the active filing cabinet to the former employee filing cabinet. One year ago, I spent two working days moving employees who quit / were terminated from the active cabinet to the former cabinet.
Pros
- Their support team is always willing to help resolve issues and find the answers needed.
- User friendly platforms from recruiting to onboarding to HR & Payroll
- Staying up to date with current trends and sharing those trends / information with companies that use Paylocity
Cons
- Direct deposit for the mobile app
- The agenda to my first seminar with Paylocity was wrong - no break scheduled in despite having a break / times were off - so verification of agendas before they're sent out to make planning the day around the Paylocity conference accurate.
- Reduced time posting jobs - love the ability to use pre-created templates.
- More free time for HR to be available for employees when needed with onboarding being straightforward and streamlined.
- My use of Paylocity is really limited to recruiting and onboarding - I do plan to expand my insight on data analytics.
I'm new to this role, so I wish I had more insight on how the business has been affected. We also have a payroll administrator, so that task is also off my plate. Scheduling is handled by each manager or supervisor, but even that is pretty straight forward. There is some flexibility depending on the department, but with flexibility tends to come a salary. I can be confident saying there is significantly more time for me to complete other objectives with the ability to email onboarding to employees to have them complete on their own time rather than having me sit with the employees to complete these tasks.
I was sad getting into this role and seeing no one in our company with nearly 500 employees utilizes Community on a regular basis, and maybe 5 employees have used Community in the last year less than 5 times. I don't know how much the organization would engage with Paylocity's Community feature, but I do like the idea of creating a group with dad jokes, wellness information, maybe sharing recipes, and maybe a Share Your Family group so employees feel like they can share their personal lives. I think it's archaic thinking to expect people leave their home lives at home when they come to work - it's too difficult in such a busy world to put that "face" on and be different people at home vs at work.
