I am an employee of one with payroll/benefits. Automated tools give me time back in my day or provide a hand up in supporting completion or tasks necessary to complete ever demanding tasks
Unfortunately, employees know as we go things that are available on community or self service portal as it is hard to educate without a tests system. We also have many of these systems internally that were developed long before we entered into the Paylocity product that are more robust and employees will continue to use what they already are familiar with.
ADP support service and reliability was really lacking. Cost was high, custom reporting was impossible

Paychex did not have the extended suite of products, integrations tools with benefits, employee access to profiles to make changes, view records, etc at the time we moved to Paylocity

Paycom felt comparable, but their biggest downfall was our need for a mass custom built report that could be run even evening to export data into our internal systems to peer reviews, employee lists, org charts etc. Paylocity far exceeds Paycom in the technical realm it seems.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

No

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

I am fairly self sufficient so the system works for me in my lack of fear in pushing buttons to figure out issues, however when I do call for support, it feels like they are not able always able to support or fail to get someone who can support. Sometimes trying to tell me that I'm doing something wrong because they do not know how to fix and me having to support how I'm doing it right to get something resolved. Lack of communication. Something as small as no longer getting invoices in gl imports, creates problems with transferring money to our bank and relates to overdraft on bank accounts.

  • Payroll Processing
  • W2/1095 Forms

Unfortunately it would be too time consuming to make a change and implement with another vendor. If products do not improve change may be inevitable

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - Paychex. They did not have a robust reporting or custom reporting system. At the time they did not have integrated products for employee changes, benefits enrollment/mtc, employee direct access to records, onboarding

Product Features, more of them.
It is hard because you are being sold on a product and you can only hope it meets the expectation of the promises made when the product is sold.
