Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity is used as an HRIS in our organization. I personally use the ATS and found it to be a sufficient product that is constantly evolving. I also use the HR module and onboarding. As a company we use most of the other modules including Benefits, Payroll, Community, LMS and will soon use Time Keeping. We've also found that the community function is very engaging with our employees. Another highlight is the Data Insights and reporting.
  • Data Insights
  • Easy to use
  • Can be integrated easily with other programs that we use
  • Candidate self scheduling
  • Phone app that allows for recruiting activities
  • ability to make notes on job requisitions
  • Faster time to recruit
  • Has sped up our Orientation/Onboarding process
  • Given great insights on our employees so that we can make better decisions.
The automation has been a great time saver for us. We use them in all modules and I personally use them in the ATS. I enjoy being able to email scheduling requests to multiple candidates at once using template emails that are automatically triggered when a candidate is put into a specific disposition status.
We've really loved using the Community, Peer recognition and Surveys...The Premium video is also great, as we use it for trainings and even for our company podcast. These features have significantly improved our employee engagement and allow for us to easily communicate across the company. We've even adopted a quarterly impressions program.
Paylocity just fits better with us. I think it's more user-friendly for our size of an organization.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

Small to mid-sized business is perfect for this program. I am sure a large company can use this program, but it depends on the complexity of the organization that will be using it. Job costing is somewhat tough to deal with for firms that have a ton of job codes, but it can be worked through given time.

Using Paylocity

500 - Our employees use Paylocity for many things throughout all of our divisions. The primary users are Training, HR, & Recruiting as we use it for the majority of the HRIS capabilities.
5 - Human Resources, recruiting, payroll, accounting, IT, and training. The system does not require any major IT knowledge, and we mostly use SME's to support their respective functions. Overall the system is very user friendly.
  • HR Data
  • Recruiting
  • Onboarding
  • Self Service
  • Time Off tracking
  • Community, sharing announcements
  • Employee Surveys
  • Review employee locations to hire more remote staff nearby to where are supervisor and managers are geographically located.
  • Compensation structure creation
  • Enhance Recruiting branding (i.e. use premium video job descriptions)
  • Interview scheduling tool
We like the system and it is easy to manage. We still plan to utilize other modules we are not taking full advantage of.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

  • Ease of Use
It is a simple interface that allows for quick implementation. It's easy to learn and there are a lot of self help resources.
Opt for something with a more robust recruiting tools.

Paylocity Implementation

Preparation is key...test, test and test again. Train employees and allow them to use the sandbox environment.
Yes - We launched HR, Community and Recruiting right away, then phased into learning and time off.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - We were well prepared, tested and created process documents, 2hich were distributed and trained on.
  • Learning curve
  • Payroll matching up to our imports from quickbooks

Paylocity Support

They don't like getting on the phone. They try to do everything via email and it's hard to get complicated issues that way.
ProsCons
Knowledgeable team
Quick Initial Response
Slow Resolution
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Yes - It was addressed quickly, but not solved. It's still ongoing and they cannot figure out the issue. Other bugs from modules outside of Recruiting tend to get resolved quickly.
Not me personally, but one of our other associates may be able to.

Using Paylocity

Easy to use and troubleshoot...hard to break.
ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn

Familiar
None
  • Self service
  • Recruiting
  • Human resources module
  • Job posting, while easy there is no option to post a job to multiple cities at once
Yes - It works okay for a lot of functions aside from the Recruiting module.
