Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for all our payroll and HR needs. We use the time and labor portion for our hourly employees and for PTO/time off for our salaried employees. We use HR & Payroll to fully process payroll, and HR uses it for our employee benefits and open enrollment. It is a very nice program where we can do everything Benefit and Payroll related all in one spot! I process all the payroll time cards and all the changes for any deductions, etc., and someone higher than me approves payroll once I've completed my part.
  • How well everything flows together.
  • How confident I am in the accuracy of their assistance to run payroll.
  • It is very organized and user-friendly. It did not take me long at all to learn the program in its entirety.
  • I like that you can customize reports to exactly what your company needs.
  • I'd like to see a change where employees are NOT able to even punch in if they have 8 hours of PTO scheduled for that day. This happens a lot and employees forget to cancel their PTO and it's a hassle.
  • I don't like where they moved my invoice for Paylocity to the cash management tab. I'd rather just get it from the reports tab like I always did.
  • Reduced errors and more consistent processes.
  • Flow through during the process to complete various stages of payroll within our designated roles.
  • Ability to still keep payroll "in-house" and process on our own, without having to send it out to a payroll company.
It makes our jobs much easier with the user-friendly Paylocity. I really appreciate that employees can do a lot of their own stuff in there and be responsible for on their own (their punches, their time off requests, visibility of their time cards at any given moment to see if they are on track with their hours or over, etc.).
Honestly, I cannot give a review of these features are it is something we don't use here at my company yet.
I ran payroll for years through QuickBooks, both the desktop and the online version. QuickBooks is very user-friendly and works great for companies that are smaller in size. I would only use QuickBooks for a company that maybe has less than 25 people employed. Paylocity is a great tool for us because we are all over the US, in 6 of our different locations; it works great for everyone in our company. Each location is a different size, and since COVID, the majority of us here have been working at home only. I can confidently process payroll even with people all over versus just in one office. It is a very smooth process!

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

I believe Paylocity works best for companies with more than 50 people and with companies that have a mix of hourly and salaried employees. I really like the way we can merge our batches of employees (salaried and hourly pulled in together) to make sure every basis is covered and every employee punches, time off requests, and taxes/deductions etc are carried through the entire process within Paylocity accurately.
