Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity is used mainly for payroll. We use the benefit side as far as insurance deductions and benefit time. We do not use it for hiring.
When I decided to use Paylocity and switch from our prior payroll software is mainly due to the ACA side and how much easier it was to use in Paylocity. The longer I use Paylocity the more I like it. I do wish our employees would engage it what it offers for them but we are a mixed group of older and younger generations, and the older out weigh the younger.

I had an excellent trainer and person to help set up Paylocity and that makes a world of difference. The sales rep at the time followed up and made sure I was being taken care of. I don't know if everyone has had the same experience because the sales rep, and trainer can make or break if one continues to use the system.
  • Payroll input, they can set up the screen the way it works best for you
  • ACA, so much ease in correcting an employee. And checking the 1095 form prior to year end.
  • Updating insurance portions each year. Remembering where it is is the hardest part, but getting the numbers updated is quite easy.
  • Customer service, reps change often and it seems my emails are not responded to very timely as they use to.
  • Updating the General Ledger distribution report. When new states are added or miscellaneous deductions are made Paylocity does not automatically update the General Ledger report and it is difficult to find. I always have to contact Paylocity in order to get it updated.
  • Consistent process (I would agree)

Our employees haven't used them. Probably due to no knowledge and no training on the employee engagement tools, no fault of Paylocity.
I selected Paylocity for the ease of ACA. I didn't want to switch from Paychex payroll processing but when the ACA was created it was a nightmare and Paychex was not handling it well. That is when I had a Sales Rep from Paylocity stop by and I wanted to see the ACA side and it was much easier to fix errors and update employees and company information.

I love Paylocity I feel the ease of use for payroll and if it gets set up for the user, it makes it easy to use. The ease of the ACA, and getting employees updated.

One thing in the ACA I don't like is that it wants to you to send the insurance information and have the employee electronically enroll and if you don't it keeps the "send" to employee. Most of our employees are on the spousal plan, and we don't electronically send our insurance enrollment through Paylocity we still handle it manually because of the age of our work force. I would like to be able to mark them as enrolled, as well as declined. Those that are enrolled I can't get off the list because the only option is declined or send the enrollment.

My experience has been a good to great one. I continue to have other companies try to get me to switch but I am very happy with Paylocity and the function of the software/website.
