Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Payroll, Time & Labor, Enhanced HR (ACA), and Learning. We use webclock. Our users are not allowed to clock in via the mobile app. However, our employees are encouraged to use the mobile app to view paystubs, request vacation, etc. Just went live this past January. We had hoped that the Community platform would be robust enough to replace others already in use. That did not happen as it was not flexible enough. We have uploaded a few of our unique training presentations to the Learning module. And have assigned training from there also.
  • Mobile app
  • Flexibility of configuration
  • Friendly look and feel
  • More Professional feeling solution for employees
  • Employee self service use seems more successful than previous competitor used
  • Phone support is very responsive
  • Email support is very unresponsive
  • Complexity and confusion between Payroll vs Time & Labor
  • Complexity of configuration of security
  • Complexity of configuration of accruals
  • Inconsistency of vacation balances from Payroll to Time & Labor makes it complex to train users how to read it
  • The effort required to dig through the help knowledgebase to find what you need
  • Lack of support ticket traceability when working with the helpdesk/hotline
  • Really successfully put employee data in their hands for the first time.
  • Has significantly reduced the effort to meet compliance reporting such as 1095-C's etc.
  • A small upfront investment has allowed us to gain a better documented system with better phone support, and more professional output for our employees with little difference to our ongoing costs.
We are a growing business that over time has had to replace manual processes with automated systems and again over time replace those with enhanced systems in order to get the professional outcome we need. Paylocity represents an important part of that growth. It provides us with a platform that delivers our employees a professional interface, gives them control over their personal information, and provides a platform upon which to build further automation of additional processes in the future.
Employee engagement tools such as Community & Peer Recognition (Impressions) have had very minimal use. We have not found these tools to be all they were cracked up to be.

As a Payroll processing company, there were many similarities in how Payroll and the integration with Time and Labor worked. Paylocity won out in its friendly appearance and ease of use for new users. Once actually digging in and using it - we could see that much of the more difficult-to-handle process issues were difficult in Paylocity as well. Under the covers, there is less difference than you think. But we really like the integrated Learning Management System and the potential for interactive onboarding in the future, etc.

Abas ERP, Google Drive, SOLIDWORKS, Microsoft Office 2016 (discontinued), Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Access, BarTender, Windows Server, Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Adobe Acrobat, Avast Business Antivirus, GIMP, Microsoft SQL Server, VNC Connect, Slack
Paylocity claims to be one platform but I consistently run into issues in regard to how data is pushed/pulled between Payroll vs. Time & Labor. The employee search view versus employee HR record view versus employee Payroll record view is frustrating. Would really like to see that streamlined. The report writer is pretty decent, but it was a pain to learn when to make tabular and when not. It was also frustrating that you could not create a report that views YTD information as well as current information in the same report.
