Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I use Paylocity as both as a user to receive pay stubs, tax documents, etc. through and I also use it to approve time cards of my employees. I frequently use the employee self-service portal as well as the time card approval process, time off approval process, and to access my bank of time off hours.
  • The app they have is great.
  • My student workers find Paylocity easy to use to log their hours worked.
  • Paylocity is easy to use to approve time off and see what an employee's balance of time off is.
  • Some menus that I think are very important are very difficult to find.
  • When logging hours, Paylocity can sometimes be very glitchy.
  • There are almost too many subcategories under categories that I don't always know if I'm looking in the right spot for something.
  • I probably spend half the time approving time sheets as I used to!
  • My students have become much more accurate in tracking their hours worked than before.
  • The time off banks of my employees are much more clearer and visible than before.
I do not personally use the HR processes in Paylocity, however, when we do hire student workers, I know it is a very automated process that HR sends to our new students, which I'm sure saves everyone a lot of time instead of just having to fill out paperwork for each new hire.
The peer recognition options are fun to look through (and even more fun to receive one) and bring a positivity to the Paylocity portal. Community is a cool social feature that is incorporated, that makes using Paylocity a little more light hearted than many would expect to get a Payroll/Hr software.
We used to do Payroll on physical timesheets, so obviously Paylocity has saved us a lot of time, both when recording the number of hours, but also in fixing errors and making sure that there are no mistakes. Now, I can keep track of student pay much easier and with much less error-checking than previously!

Paylocity is well suited for us because I have multiple student employees that are responsible for logging their hours worked every day. With just a few clicks, I can approve their time sheets very easily. I think if you a more detailed time sheet or have many employees, Paylocity may not be the easiest thing, but with our small amount of employees, it is easily manageable.
