Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I use Paylocity to manage all employee data - HR documents, payroll, benefits, onboarding for new hires, plus reporting to assist with 401(K) and budgets.
  • Payroll process is very simple and easy to use. I can make employee changes while processing payroll and immediately see the changes in the pay data batch.
  • You can very easily modify Paylocity to meet your needs. I do this with scheduling, new hire onboarding, tracking employee skills, maintaining and storing items like an employee file. If I have a change for something, I can add or edit in the Configuration tab.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE is amazing. All account managers can help with any area of their software instead of being siloed into one area or speciality of the system. I never wait and can reach out to my account manager easily for updates via email. If I want to talk to someone immediately, anyone on the customer service line can assist me.
  • Low cost! The pricing is super competitive.
  • Easy usability for Admins and End users.
  • I would like to be able to edit timecards via the mobile app for supervisors.
  • Reporting is not always usable. Needs reformatted.
  • I don't love the workflows.
  • Reduced errors on payroll and the ability to fix any errors with voiding/reissuing checks. I've been able to easily get money back on voided checks when employees enter the wrong banking information.
  • We can assess our budget a lot more accurately for each account based on our cost center locations.
  • We can communicate a lot easier with our employees through Paylocity.
  • We reduced a lot of paper usage.
Payroll- the pay batches are really straightforward and make the payroll process a lot easier for me. I don't have to generate new reporting when I make a change because I can preview the checks easily. Payroll is very user friendly. Talent Acquisition process- can be a lot more structured and transparent for all involved in recruiting. Scheduling- can easily see on timecards and schedules when employees miss work or are having attendance issues. Reporting- can easily pull reports I need to send to clients or vendors.
The communication we can have with employees has been amazing since our employees are at different locations. We can ensure we're sending out important information to our employees and have seen an increase in our yearly party (about DOUBLE what we normally have) because we are able to send out messages to employees' phones and other reminders. It also really helps when we have a snowstorm and need to communicate closures and delays to employees.
ADP's customer service and usability was super difficult. If I had a question or an issue, it took a long time to get an answer and the wait time was always super frustrating. I was nervous to switch away and complete an implementation, but it was well worth it. I will never switch to ADP in my career hopefully. I think software will impact my future career decisions. Paycor was just a lot more basic than ADP and Paylocity.

You can run as many payrolls as you want at no extra charge. This is great for companies with lots of moving parts and hourly employees. Account manager is best to communicate to over email, but can call in and won’t get siloed to one area or be on the phone forever. As far as Yearend- so far, no problem with the implementation. Paperless onboarding is a lot more seamless than other systems. Admins don't need to add too much info to get the employees started on new hire paperwork. Adding pay types to timecards can track no call, no shows, or call offs. Using the Cost centers are great. Standard reporting isn’t as great, but I've created a lot of great reports from scratch! Lots of ability to create processes with the system through tasks and workflows. Very systematic. I love the ATS with Paylocity and get a lot of candidates through Jobtarget.
