Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for our HRIS system and payroll. A huge piece is being able to streamline payroll by using a timekeeping system and running payroll electronically. This eliminates paper timesheets and allows for efficiency. The PTO tracking also eliminates having spreadsheets for every employee and allows for rollovers/balance resets to be done automatically.
  • Very responsive customer support.
  • The system is very user-friendly.
  • Reporting is easy to use.
  • The system offers a lot of functionality.
  • The help center articles are very useful
  • The time off calendar would be nice to "block" the time being used to offer more confidentiality for an employee's reason for absence.
  • Some of the PTO tracking with rollovers/resets can cause issues. We are able to do a "work around" but there could be some improvement.
  • Definitely, a more efficient way to track PTO and process timecards vs. manual tracking.
There have definitely been efficiencies with PTO tracking, previously tracked and monitored with an excel spreadsheet. The elimination of paper and savings on office supplies doing evaluations, time off requests, etc., via the computer vs. paper. Processing of payroll is more efficient versus making a phone call and calling in each employees hours to generate their payroll check.
We honestly have not utilized this option in the platform. We have a lot of future goals to use the surveys and peer recognition. We are a small organization of less than 30, so at times, we are very "simple". We will be looking at these other features in the future.
Paylocity is more user friendly and easier to navigate! The system is easy for employees and for administrative staff. The articles and help centers built within the platform also allow for ease of getting questions answered for finding a process without having to make a phone call. Definitely one of the easiest systems to use on the market!

I previously used ADP at my last employer and I have been very happy with Paylocity, its functionality, and great customer service. I always recommend this to my HR colleagues. If there are issues, my email is answered within 24 hours, and if they cant get the answer, they take the question to another team level.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - ADP was used in the past. The HRIS platform was not utilized, but it was used for payroll. The organization was looking for more efficiency and to eliminate paper processes and whatever else could be streamlined. ADP did not have a very user friendly platform so the organization wanted to seek an alternative.
  • Ease of Use
We are a very small organization so the ease of use was very important and we also did not want to overcomplicate processes and procedures that were already in place. It is hard to get "buy in" from management when a system is difficult or takes a long implementation process.
We honestly would not change our process. We researched companies that were available. We researched their cost. We researched their functionality. We researched their ease of use. All of which allowed for us to come to a decision on what the best choice would be for the organization. We feel this was a detailed process.

Paylocity Support

The support team is fairly responsive and you hear back within 24 hours. Lately the actual solution hasn't been great, it sounds like they are doing some upgrades to their functionality
