Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
Paylocity is our payroll and HRIS system. We use it for payroll processing, reporting, performance management, learning management, onboarding, tracking hourly ee's time, benefit enrollment, compliance, employee recognition, and remote engagement.
Pros
- HR Edge is a huge value in being able to quickly search for state laws in many different categories.
- The payroll system is easy to use and has a variety of auto calculation functions that saves time.
- They often are enhancing their products with new features.
Cons
- Better training for their employees; it's quite frustrating to reach out for help and be told that "no one uses that Paylocity function" so they can't provide guidance or that it's new and they haven't been trained on it yet after it's been sold to us.
- Would love to see better integration and offerings for international payroll, especially with the acquisition of Blue Marble.
- Quicker service response; sometimes we don't hear back on an open issue for weeks or months.
- More flexibility within the system. It often doesn't allow the functionality that we need.
- Would like to see the ability to terminate someone within the system and still have automatic severance pay for a set number of pay periods. Currently this isn't possible and has caused issues with reporting and Community.
- Better search functionality in Community (similar to Slack). It's pretty difficult to search for specific posts since it's just one long running feed and the search option isn't as accurate as I'd like.
- A way to archive past goals so employees don't have a long list of goals that keeps growing year after year.
- Ongoing/intermittent issues with the org chart continuing to show termed employees and/or not showing new employees.
- Would love to see an automatic trigger for tax changes when an employee enters a new address.
- Offering a direct deposit verification without creating a physical check for new employees.
- Reduced time in processing payroll
- Increased reporting capability
Allows us to focus on larger projects such as DEIB, establishing a mentoring program, and employee development.
Community has allowed us to smoothly transition to remote work while still providing fun ways for colleagues to engage and get to know each other personally through contests we host in Community and employees sharing their own stories. Any time we send a reminder about Impressions, we see new ones pour in from managers as well as colleagues recognizing each other.
Paylocity has better pricing and meets most of our U.S. needs.
