Overall Satisfaction with PeopleSoft eProcurement
PeopleSoft ePro is used across the entire organization for most requisitioning, punching out to vendors' websites for ordering as well as the approval process for those orders. While some business processes still utilize the core requisitioning processes, almost all of our requisitions are created from ePro. This addresses all of the ordering needs of the organization, as all users are able to submit requisitions and have the approvals routed appropriately.
- Punching out to vendors' websites - this is a significant strength as it allows users to have the shopping experience within the ordering process while remaining "in" PeopleSoft
- Approval Process - the approval process for ePro is robust and configurable enough to meet our organization's approval requirements
- Options - the ePro options are many and the ability to configure those options allows for the requisitioning process to fit the needs of our organization instead of the other way around
- Robustness of facilities within the browser - PeopleSoft ePro uses a frame to encapsulate the punchout, and this is not always the best supported
- PeopleSoft Test Framework does not work with ePro punchout, which requires manual testing and does not allow for end to end automated testing
- eProcurement and traditional "Core" procurement do not share the same functionality exactly, which can cause confusion within the user community
- PeopleSoft ePro has signficantly reduced the amount of purchasing department effort in coordinating special orders, placing orders directly with vendors through punchout and allowing a quality front end to the business units for submission of requisitions
- The Approval framework is robust and has allowed for a streamlined and consistent approval process across the entire organization
- The significant investment in the implementation of ePro has paid off over time by vastly improved user experience, however this is due to the long timeframe that we have had ePro implemented. If we had a lesser length of time this may not have been worthwhile but for our organization it has been.
