Overall Satisfaction with PitchBook
PitchBook is being used primarily, although not exclusively, by the research division within my organization. When conducting diligence on fund managers or specific companies, PitchBook serves as a source of quality information. Because of the wide breadth and unique data points PitchBook offers, the software is a crucial provider of data that my organization is not able to find elsewhere.
- PitchBook provides a very comprehensive database of not just companies and investors but also M&A activity, financials, funds and LPs.
- Pitchbook is multi-dimensional it how it can be used. For example, it can help to accomplish various business objectives, including deal sourcing, due diligence, private market intelligence and fundraising.
- PitchBook has an easy-to-navigate user interface. It enables the user to quickly find the data and information that he or she needs.
- Financials on PitchBook are not always up to date. For example, despite Q1 2020 financials already being published by companies, PitchBook was still missing their FY2019 results.
- The market intelligence features are not as developed as S&P Capital IQ. For example, the public markets plugin does not track indices.
- The cons mentioned above are minor. PitchBook has very few meaningful downsides as it offers more private market data than any of its competitors.
- PitchBook has enabled my company to be more efficient in determining whether or not to conduct further diligence on companies and funds.
- PitchBook contributes to a more comprehensive analysis of companies and fund managers when making investment decisions. For example, it assists us in valuing private companies, mapping markets, and finding key decision makers.
- Due to the quality and reliability of information PitchBook has, it is saving my company large amounts of time, particularly since we look through hundreds of companies on a weekly basis.
