Overall Satisfaction with Pixabay

When writing blog posts I use Pixabay for free photos to avoid copyright issues. A colleague recommended me as she had actually had that happen to her using pictures from Google. Pixabay offers a variety of different photos for most occasions and is super quick and easy to use to find images to boost SEO. With a quick search, you can see hundreds of pictures, I usually find only the first couple of pages are relevant to the search and they don't have any specific scenarios, those are behind a paywall
  • Variety of photos
  • Good quality photos
  • Easy to use for blogging
  • For some searches- it doesn’t have many options to choose from
  • Medical pictures are a bit lacking
  • Most pictures are general and difficult to find relatable pictures for some blog topics
  • Search
  • Quick download
  • Free content
  • Copyright free
  • Helps to improve SEO with blog pictures
  • Decrease worry of copyright
  • video footage for B roll
Canva has many more options for pictures available on their pro platform. For my business, it is easier to justify the cost of Canva as it includes other features like photo editing and graphic design. Pixabay does have pictures, and videos, and expanded into gifs but can be hard to find specific pictures.

Did implementation of Pixabay go as expected?

Would you buy Pixabay again?

Yes

I think the free version of Pixabay works great for blogging to add a picture or two to support an article. In certain instances, for example, when creating a website- you may want to pay for the upgrade so you can access the higher-quality photos. Most of the free ones are pretty generic and basic compared to the paid photos. If you're looking for something specific, you may not find it. Canva and platforms have more options.
