Overall Satisfaction with Planview LeanKit
LeanKit is used by my department to organize development work and issues that need to be addressed within our web applications. It's primarily used by other teams that I occasionally need to work with. It provides a way for these teams to organize and sort things in a way that fits their needs.
- Kanban-style workflow (can be fun moving things along on the board).
- Advanced organization of boards and lanes.
- Allows for various forms of information to be captured in each card.
- Not the best designed Kanban software I've seen.
- The advanced organization options seem to create overly complex boards in my experience.
- Finding a specific card can be a challenge.
- Keeps things organized.
- Provides clear statuses and goals for teams.
- The teams that use it extensively seem to love it.
- Allows for collaboration within the organization.
I use Trello a bit for personal use. It's much less powerful than LeanKit, but it's also a better design and simpler to use. ServiceNow has some kanban board stuff built-in, but I wasn't super impressed with it. JIRA seemed to be even more complex than LeanKit for the short amount of time my team used it. GitHub has a bit of kanban board stuff built in now, but I think it operates for each project individually, rather than one master board for all the projects. Using GitHub issues (without the kanban) was actually my favorite way of dealing with project tasks though.
