Overall Satisfaction with Planview Projectplace

[Planview Projetplace is used for] different kinds of R&D projects.
Small and big projects that are handled in 3 different countries. Different project leaders and teams. German and English is used. Access to project documentation in different departments can be granted and and all stakeholders are informed live about current project status. Engineering projects have been addressed in the past, but we’re not continued with the system.
  • Task assigning to single persons and self driven feedback about status
  • Document distribution with rights, versions and integration into tasks
  • Classical gang view together with task boards
  • Report about project status
  • Gantt planning needs improvement to assign “pre-activities
  • Clarification on how best combination of boards and activities work together. Boards are linked to activities restrictively, if you don’t know, you have to set up everything new. E.g. making department boards that cannot be linked to general project phases when different departments work on
  • Roadmap planning is confusing and doesn’t being added value. Needs improvement and clear guideline on how to use
  • Project portfolio management is too low level. Should be expanded to handle multiple projects overview
  • Project task management introduced without excel and stuff to set up by yourself
  • Integration of external workforce without additional cost
  • Switch responsibility in the team easily

Do you think Planview ProjectPlace delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Planview ProjectPlace's feature set?

Yes

Did Planview ProjectPlace live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Planview ProjectPlace go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Planview ProjectPlace again?

Yes

I always got what I asked for.
It has become pretty intuitive, but there are still some bugs and complicated procedures to do to get done what you intended and you have just no clue why and how. Some things should be played through by UX designers together with customers to see how things work out if you are using full potential.
It’s just ready to use and has far more possibilities.
[Planview Projectplace is well suited for] R&D projects and customer applications in mechanics and hardware development[.]
