Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using Procore on construction projects ranging from small school projects to large hospitals and pharmaceutical facilities. My team and I reference drawings, specifications, submittals, and models. Having a central location for the latest documents is a crucial part of keeping everyone on the same page with what is expected to be constructed.

Pros and Cons

Versioning old document/files
Searching for needed documents and being able to filter out unnecessary documents
Ease of use of product on iPads and cell phones
Model navigation

The models module measurement tool does not give X, Y, and Z plane measurements
The ability to make markups on submittals
Bookmarks for submittals would be beneficial for large submittal package navigation

Return on Investment

I have always been an end user so the ROI is not something I can track. I do know it saves time though.
Increases efficiency.
With the iPad app, not having to lug around a set of paper drawings or submittal book is a huge benefit.

Systems Integrated With

For the model modules I have, the Navisworks add-in to be able to produce models for Procore. The models module is great! Being able to link the drawings to the model and navigate using the drawings is one of the things that field workers love!

Procore is a lot cleaner and more user friendly. We conducted an experiment with Procore where we handed it to a foreman that is close to retirement and had never seen or used Procore before. We asked him to find the water closet submittal for a WC-1. From the time when he was handed the iPad to when he handed it back showing the correct submittal was a little over a minute.

Likelihood to Recommend

Any construction project that has more than two people needing construction documents for it could benefit from Procore. There is a good amount of discussion around source of truth for construction projects. When your documents spread out and there is any chance that someone could be accessing old information, it is a chance for errors and the need for re-work. Using Procore as the source of truth and the ability to access all of the information and track, it's progression is a huge time saver and minimizes the chance of re-work.
