Overall Satisfaction with Progress Sitefinity
Currently being used by multiple departments in the organization. Sitefinity Progress has allowed them to be able to submit content and create forms without any I.T. intervention. It also helps address some administrative overhead so we can focus on improving our overall web presence and back-end server technology rather than helping folks edit.
- Modern platform.
- Good customer support.
- Full featured.
- Upgrades could be smoother.
- Licensing could be more tailored toward our industry.
- Could be considered to have some performance bloat. Would like to see options to slim down the page sizes.
- Definitely increased website traffic.
- Traffic increase in the mobile area.
- Ability to get the word out quickly on current events.
We looked at the newer version of SharePoint and it was too cost prohibitive and not well suited for an overall website. We were primarily using it because of the multiple editors features coupled with the ability to segregate them to different areas of the site. Progress Sitefinity does the same thing at a better cost.

Evaluating Progress Sitefinity and Competitors
Yes - We replaced Microsoft SharePoint with Sitefinity. The reasoning is SP was clunky and started to be super cost-prohibitive with licensing.
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Vendor Reputation
Product features was probably our most important factor. We wanted something solid and under a regular support umbrella in order to get the newest features but also keeping it secure.
We might have evaluated the licensing a bit more to lock in a better price or a multi-year price.
Progress Sitefinity Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - There was no change management done. This could have been better to improve the speed of adoption.
