Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

We previously used Prophix for month end reporting, consolidation of the P&L and BS as well as our planning tool for product output along with department expenses.
  • Prophix allows you to pull many different departments at one time, which then allows you to easily export with all the information you are looking for without having to export each account separately.
  • With a little bit of work, creating new reports on the fly are relatively easy, and saving and updating the reports are easy as well.
  • Switching between months, accounts, versions, etc is simple and intuitive.
  • Switching between modules could be made easier.
  • Due to the simplicity of the program, we allowed others, outside of finance, to access their reports, thus increasing efficiency for the financials analysts to be able to do their jobs.
  • BPC
We are currently using BPC, but I have many days where I wish I was able to go back to Prophix for the simplicity of the program, to creating my own reports, to being able to change things on a dime without authorization for the one person who holds the power of BPC.
Are you using this to both budget and report? What depth do you want to be able to drill down upon?

Using Prophix

A decision was made by upper management to try and remedy the issues we were having with Prophix by getting a different accounting program, but Prophix is still used for product level budgeting due to the ability to plan at the SKU level.
