ICP uses Prophix to complete the annual budget. It is used by all departmental directors and the company administrators. Department heads use Prophix for their financials statements. It provides access to historical expense data. Prophix eliminated the use of Excel spreadsheets for budgeting which reduces the time to roll up the budgets to departmental and corporate levels. Prophix makes it easy to budget different scenarios on the fly.
- Prophix makes the budgeting process much easier. Users can see historical expense data while budgeting. They can add line item detail to explain what they are spending the dollars for. Users can move the budget through multiple levels of management for approval.
- Prophix provides the ability to budget several scenarios quickly. Budgets can be built based on prior year results or prior year budgets.
- Prophix provides users with access to their monthly financial reports. User defined reports can be generated for budgeting or actual results.
- The DPM for staffing could be improved to make it easier to make multiple views and insert these views into the budgeting module.
- Some of the calculations in the DPM need to allow for more levels of calculation.
- Streamlined our budgeting process. Reduced errors that were inherent in the multiple EXCEL spreadsheets used for budgeting before Prophix.
- Provides detail financial data to department heads. Eliminates their need for access to the G/L software.
ICP imports financial data to Prophix monthly. This data is used to prepare financial statements and provide specialized reports for users. The process is easy enough that it doesn't require the assistance of our IT Department.
The deployment flexibility is very important to ICP because we have off site users. Some of our users are located at our other two facilities so they wouldn't access to the corporate office. Other users travel but have access to the corporate office.
