Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

We are currently using Prophix for reporting our monthly, quarterly and annual financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Work in Progress Report). We also budget for all of our general and administrative expenses as well as variance reporting.

  • Ability for users to integrate with their ERP.
  • More screen real estate in design, data entry and report mode.
  • Consolidated reporting.
  • Quicker high level impact to low level changes to budgets.
Prophix set up Vista to automatically import the data we needed. We can even set this up on a schedule to update nightly or as often as we want as well as manually. Since Vista is SQL backed, it was pretty easy to find the tables and data we needed and pointed Prophix in the right direction which made integration much smoother.
We chose to use the public cloud.
Sometimes it takes a while to get issues answered but they have gotten better and getting more people in there to get problems solved quicker.
Budget Maestro was too basic, Anaplan was too complex and Host Analytics didn't understand our industry or our ERP. Prophix is a partner with Viewpoint which meant there was much more knowledge on how our structure worked.
I can't think of any reporting where Prophix would not be useful. You can get as high level or as detailed as you would like. High-level reporting can also be drilled down if needed. Budgeting is also extremely dynamic.

Growing with Prophix

Some major successes have been some non-financial use cases, especially pertaining to COVID-19 and it's impact on our company. Using Prophix and building new things has forced me to really learn where our data lives and what it's telling me.
We are able to use Prophix to get a headcount of employees and where they are located throughout the country. This way, we are able to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Everybody that works at Prophix is very pleasant to work with. I've interacted with at least 30 different people in the 2 years I have been in business with them and they are always so nice to work with!
