Overall Satisfaction with Prophix

Currently Prophix is being used within the Insurance Services division of my company. It is used in conjunction with our accounting/financial software to display general ledger detail. We utilize the features of Prophix to assist in all aspects of our projection and budgeting process, and to give users streamlined insight into journal detail.

  • Less intuitive trying to learn more complicated features such as Detail Planning Manager
  • I would like more ability to be able to test features without having to risk compromising any data

  • Improved visibility into the general ledger
Prophix has made it easier to combine various budget components in a much simpler fashion than in the past. In that sense it has allowed somewhat of a transition away from Excel based budgeting and planning. However a lot of the individual budget components are still developed within Excel before being input into Prophix. I think as an organization there is still some progress to be made to shift more away from Excel for budgeting purposes.

Prophix has been really well suited for a large organization like my employer. Its compatibility with our current accounting/GL software was a huge selling point since it didn't require us to really change any existing accounting practices. It has been a huge help throughout our financial projection and budgeting processes. It gives us the ability to share templates with specific teams for them to input on their own which has taken a lot of the back end work off of my team.

Growing with Prophix

Prophix has allowed my team to much more simply run a number of different financial allocations that we wouldn't be able to do easily in Excel or other programs. This has simplified our budget process while simultaneously making it more accurate. We have also been able to leverage the process manager function in Prophix to complete our forecasts and budgets.

I think Prophix overall has been very intuitive and easy to grasp the basics of. We have a lot of users at my organization and it has been easy to get new users familiar with the system. It has improved the budget process and the collaboration across different teams. While I think there are some more complex features of Prophix, for an everyday user I am happy with the usability.

Yes - Yes I have submitted a few different tickets to Prophix support and have found when we have an urgent issue we are typically able to get a hold of someone within a matter of hours. Sometimes it is hard to bridge the gap between the advanced technical understanding of the support person to just a standard Prophix users so it can take a little longer to resolve certain issues.
There was an instance where a process was run that deleted all of our financial data from Prophix. Because of Prophix's frequent Cloud backups I was able to submit and urgent ticket and get all the data restored within a matter of about two hours. Given that my organization has so many Prophix users it was crucial that we were able to get this kind of immediate support.
There have only been a few instances where I personally requested support from the Prophix team, but every time they were able to resolve the problem. My team occasionally experiences issues with our connection to other financial systems outside of typical business hours, which is the only time there seems to be a delay in getting tickets resolved.
