QAD at a glance
Score 7 out of 10
Overall Satisfaction with QAD
QAD is being used to drive the underlying operational systems key to producing product, tracking inventory and managing costs. As such QAD is being utilized to drive cost saving efforts throughout the operational value chain. QAD allows for seemless integration of purchasing and manufacturing process controls, and also has been used further up the supplychain with sometimes integrating with our vendors.
- Overall the ROI on QAD is positive
- Initial investment is high in terms of dollars and time
QAD stacks up well against other similar software that I have used. All in all the ability to add or subtract modules from QAD is a great advantage in having a flexible system that you can start with and adapt as your needs changes. This allows for small companies to use QAD and not just limit it to bigger companies.
QAD was a great tool during some of my Lean/Six-Sigma operations projects. It allowed for quick turnover in measuring the lead time of Work Order closures, to addressing the measurement of inventory levels through the production work flow. QAD was great when the process was laid out and correctly inputted into QAD whereas we ran into difficulties using QAD in these projects when we found parts that we not inputted correctly into QAD resulting. This is not really the fault of QAD but more the inputting of the information into QAD but highlighted the fact that the information must be entered correctly at the start.
