Overall Satisfaction with Qlik Sense

Qlik Sense itself is quite easy to implement to support BI activities in the organization. We develop Qlik apps in a mixed-mode. Something we do in-house, but for bigger tasks we ask a partner to help. Each app covers its own company area or process to support managers and their teams. It's quite important to think about actual needs when you decide to develop a new one. Deep analysis of current information and forecasting almost always provides more value to the company than analyzing historical data. Try to focus on that and Qlik should help.
  • Easy to start
  • Easy to use
  • Fast and agile
  • Experts are needed to implement and use it in a right way.
  • Less benefits without trained users.
  • Close to real time KPI control and follow-up.
  • Fast processing of data sets to analyze KPI's on different levels.

Evaluating Qlik Sense and Competitors

Yes - We were aiming to improve our BI capabilities in the company. Several solutions were in scope with desired functionality including Qlik, Tableau and PowerBI. We decided to go for Qlik Sense over other solutions due to different reasons. First, Qlik community and network was mature, and it was easy to create 3-5 applications with support from chosen official Qlik partner. Second, the Qlik price and TCO were better. The last, but not the least, the opportunity to quickly train an internal specialist was a great option to optimize related expenses and keep high quality.

We've described functional and non-functional requirements for the BI solution. Some of them were mentioned earlier, but if I have to define the most important one, then it is the speed of solution implementation, including creation of specific analytical applications, in a good cooperation with Qlik partner. It took about a month to sign the contract, buy the licenses and implement on-premise Qlik server. Then it took another month to start the usage of 2 applications created from scratch.
Now we have Microsoft O365 environment with PowerBI licenses. It means that we can use PowerBI solution and integrate it to other company markets. Qlik has no such advantages, but even in this case it can compete with PowerBI in terms of usability, functionality and especially external support from partners network.
