Overall Satisfaction with Quick Base

We rolled Quick Base out 8 years ago for our Sales Department, now it's used in Marketing and Product Marketing. We've launched it internationally and it has made a huge difference in communication.
  • Workflow approval
  • Reducing dependence on email
  • Automation
  • Connecting with Microsoft applications
Quick Base absolutely makes building, deploying, and maintaining custom business applications faster and easier. This is a major benefit of the system.
Quick Base is faster at deployment and customization than Salesforce. Quick Base is more intuitive and has a better interface than SharePoint.
  • Building and deploying business applications faster
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
We've absolutely achieved the results we were after. We use it for processes and it makes huge differences in those processes.
I've had engineers and IT folk love the tool for speed and customization. They develop in the tool without any issues. My background is in IT so it's always been an easy tool for me. I train users that are not technical in using the application and they love the ease of use. I'm not sure how they would do in developing in the tool. It seems very easy to me.
The double edged sword of customization is that you can build yourself into a corner. I've done it a few times and had to undo a bunch of work. That being said updating is very easy.
Whenever you are using emailed attachments to track the progress of a project or request. This is where Quick Base shines. It helps clarify the process and the current status of the project.

Integrations and Governance

  • SFTP Location
  • QuickBase applications
  • Zendesk
The SFTP and QuickBase integrations were part of the native integrations that QuickBase allows. Those went very well. The interface was clear. I did have trouble with the SFTP location, but that was due to LDAP security from the client. Nothing related to QuickBase. The Zendesk interface was very frustrating. It wouldn't connect, and QuickBase did not respond in a timely manner. I found out later that it wasn't a priority for QuickBase. I ended up failing on this integration and it cost me a client.
  • Quick Base
The looping process and ability to reorganize the sequence were very helpful. However, I didn't like the charging of each API call for each run. With webhooks or automations you don't have this same issue if you are running through a batch of data. I do like the visual design of the interface.
I had a client need some of this information for their banking audit. Having QuickBase use AES-256 encryption and two data server locations helps with compliance. I've never had an IT department have issue with their security. Even the fact that Admins can not see passwords makes me feel better about their commitment to security. Users can still do dumb things, but in my mind QuickBase has checked off all the requirements needed to have the application pass security audits.
