Overall Satisfaction with Quickbase

Currently we're doing a startup contact center, so we are using it to process all of our intake. Not only calls, but emails portals and things like that. So it is our primary data capture of any communication that we have coming into the contact center for the company.

Secondly what we use it for is also communications between the multiple offices throughout the United States. We have close to 40 offices across the states, and we have multiple people that we need to get in contact for various reasons. So we use that as a internal database for ourselves to be able to facilitate that communication quickly.

We also expanded that to another team for the portals team, and they use that as a workflow process for multiple different things that they do as well.

It's used from a human resources aspect for internal, for our group, so that we have the ability to track the type of equipment that each of our people has, tardies - things like that. So we can keep track of that internally without having to go through the major company aspect of things. So going a little bit above and beyond the tools that have already been given to us through our company.
  • The fact that it's customizable.
  • If there's a problem, we can find a solution with it.
  • Everything about it is just great as far as I'm concerned.
  • So much easier to use than a spreadsheet.
  • Being able to create calculations based off different things is so much easier to do.
  • The reporting is amazing, being able to create amazing dashboards. For various different roles that we have in our company for myself, for my team, for the people that are doing their job daily can have different views per person.
  • There are some of the more cool features that you have to have a little bit of a learning curve to get to. If you're wanting to do something simple, like taking a spreadsheet and turning it into a form and the, the typical spreadsheet format, that's easy to do and anybody can pick that up and that's awesome about it.
  • Trying to do some of the more intricate functions takes a little bit more knowledge, and to get some of the cooler features you, you need to have some sort of additional background. That's the downside of it. However, the community is amazing, and if there's a question you have, there's somebody there to use them.

so in my previous job where I used it before, and that's where I really learned how to use it, was in my previous job. We had a project with a cell phone company that was attempting to try to figure out their location-based routing for 911 calls. So, what I was able to do was create an app in order to gather the data from our phone system, from the various nine one one centers that were in the pilot program and get six weeks data previous and then six weeks data post the implementation of location based routing. And then we continued that for another three months whenever they implemented all of the 911 centers in the county to that. The graphs, the charts, the dashboard, I was able to create and give to that cell phone company, it gave them the data that they couldn't gather on their end in order to say, this is a success. This is doing what we're asking it to do. We are reducing the calls going to the wrong 911 center that have to then be transferred. So they saw an immediate reduction, 30% reduction of transferred calls and things like that they used that to the cell phone company. The cell phone company said, yes, in fact, this is working the way that we wanted it. It went statewide and now it's national.
I've looked at some other ones. I believe Amazon has one that I looked into, but it looked a lot more complicated than what Quickbase offers. There was another one that was suggested for me to look into. I think it was a Microsoft version of once again looked into it, I was like, you still need to have some technical knowledge behind it in order to make it function.Whereas Quickbase, you don't need that. It's set out pretty plain language for anybody to pick up and start using.
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
I am a non-technical person. I came from the 911 world. I was a 911 dispatcher. I knew how to work programs, but actually building them, I had some basic Excel skills. It took me about a year before I felt good about the work that I was doing. But if you can dream it, you can build it is the thought process. So I don't think you need to have very much, I think you need to have some basic understanding of spreadsheets and things like that, that you can apply to Quickbase. And then once you start learning how all of this stuff works together, it just keeps growing.
I'm in the process right now. I built my first for this company and now that we've expanded in our job tasks and the things that are being requested of us it's time to reevaluate at this point in time. It's not terribly hard to do.It just takes a little bit more thought process before you make those changes. But you have think about what's going ahead of you, where are you trying to go, but it's not that hard.
I think it's less appropriate whenever somebody is not in Quickbase, it makes things a little bit more difficult. You can get around it depending on what it is that you're trying to do for them. But when you have like our group who uses Quickbase on a daily basis to be able to get that kind of view Versus the other side on what you're doing. It's just a little bit more difficult. It's always best to have everybody that you want in there. And so that's the downside is getting is the outsiders in.
