Overall Satisfaction with Quickbase

We have several different Quickbase applications. Everything from our CRMs or project management applications to complex demo applications and prepopulated forms for clients to update. We also do all of our support ticketing through Quickbase with the help of our add-ons. When we use our own add-ons as well the native power of Quickbase, it helps bring dynamic information and, flexibility to the platform. So that's the general gist of our usage.
  • Quickbase as a platform is easy to use. I came from a business management background with little to no coding experience. To be able to customize a whole application from scratch is really awesome and something I never thought I'd be able to do.
  • I don't necessarily need to be a developer to use this platform, thanks low-code, no-code.
  • The ability to easily integrate with other services such as Juiced Technologies!
  • The XML API do not include special characters such as something like the euro, that Euro symbol does not come up with the API call, so that's something that we totally love to see. Our international customers would really appreciate it.
  • UTF-8 encoding on copied existing apps is a problem. To be able to have those incorrect special characters identified or to make sure that those are issues are resolved prior to turning UTF-8 on for an application would be helpful.
We manage hundreds of customers who all have their own Quickbase realms. Each customers realm is different, and that's what's really beautiful about, no two are exactly alike. So to be able to build these complex solutions with automated workflows within them is something that we've worked really hard to do. My company Juiced Technologies provides add-ons specifically built within Quickbase and we are a compliment to Quickbase providing the ability to create the advanced and complex workflows. That's really what I like, our organization uses Quickbase to provide further benefits to Quickbase customers.

  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
Yes! We've helped build a whole business around Quickbase as an Add-on provider and third party seller. We can easily come in, install our add-ons and integrations to help drive further value within this platform. It has been nothing but great for us. Okay, perfect. Products like QuickBase are designed to make building, deploying, and maintaining custom business applications faster and easier. For me, like I mentioned earlier I came from a business management background, not a development background. I've been able to make my own customer success management applications from scratch with very little help from developers. The ability to do that on your own is very powerful. I Love it.

"What outcomes did you hope to achieve with QuickBase? Can you describe whether you achieve those and why or why not?"

Examples such as building and deploying business applications faster, improving ability to drive collaboration. These are certainly great outcomes, improving collaboration is one of the big ones. Being able to reach out to customers and track those conversations, build next steps, as well as get them in touch with the right people at our organization has definitely been a huge win. Additionally, being able to connect multiple applications together through various tools whether it's Juiced Technologies add-ons, or tools like pipelines, it's truly powerful.
I did not come from a computer science background, so to be able to use this platform and grow it myself, making multiple tables, fields, and relationships, with very little guidance from a true developer is super powerful. With Quickbase, you don't need to have that kind of background, it's easy to learn! The university is great, as well as, support from within the organization when needed. Plus there's this whole partner program which my company, Juiced Technologies is a member of. For lack of better words, this is a resources where you can find experts in building and designing Quickbase specifically. QuickBase is designed to make it easy to update existing applications which is why involving these experts at any stage of your build can be extremely beneficial.
That's actually something that I believe is on the dangerous side of low-code. I think that it's hard to track changes if you don't comment out what you have written or changed. A lot of things interact within Quickbase, you could have various tables that are connected and fields that reference each other as well. So, deleting stuff is one of the scariest things in Quickbase. Never delete unless you're truly certain that's what you want. As for just updating, as long as you have your eggs lined up in a basket and you know what you're ready to do it's no issue at all.
I think that's the beautiful thing about Quickbase is we have customers that are from small mom and pop shops, small construction companies that use our add-ons to reach out to clients and let them know, "Hey, we're coming to service your roof today. Is someone going to be home?" All the way up to the large enterprise sides size audience that have extremely complex workflows. So I don't really think that there's any one, shoe size. I think it's one size fits all, and there's different plans that suit everyone's needs.
