Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

We used Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise to take care of all of the Company's accounting records, track invoices, track outstanding accounts payable and receivable, etc. We found that Quickbooks Desktop is very powerful, but it is not very user-friendly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we started the switch to QuickBooks Online and have found that QuickBooks Online has provided what we needed with more ease of use and better fits some of our employees working remotely. QuickBooks Online is missing a few features that Quickbooks Desktop has had, but overall, we found QuickBooks Online to have all of the good of Quickbooks Desktop, with a better user interface.
  • Sending invoices.
  • General Ledger Accounting.
  • Detailed Reports.
  • Clunky User Interface.
  • Not as user friendly as QuickBooks Online.
  • Difficulty with remote work.
  • Once we switched to QuickBooks Online we increased reporting capabilities.
  • Duplicate invoices and payables weren't an issue with Quickbooks desktop.
Our Company used an outside accounting firm to help us implement Quickbooks Desktop. The implementation wasn't the issue, but ensuring that all the correct accounts, customer balances, etc. were transferred over necessitated us using an outside accounting firm.
As stated in earlier parts of the review, we moved from Quickbooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online because of the ease of use that QuickBooks Online has, while maintaining 95% of the power of Quickbooks Desktop. The one spot where Quickbooks Desktop comes out on top is the ability to have more powerful and meaningful reports.

Quickbooks Desktop is well suited for instances where there is just one person who needs to access the accounting data; however, when there are multiple people in Quickbooks, it would be better to have the QuickBooks Online version (as the access is easier and the learning curve for QuickBooks Online is much less steep than that of Quickbooks Desktop).
