Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online

We utilize QuickBooks Online in our accounting services area which is dedicated to our small and medium size business clients. It allows us to access our clients books in real-time and make adjustments to their accounting entries. We are able to keep more staff in the office while still providing a high level of client care.
  • Allows for adjustments to be made while multiple people are accessing the system
  • Allows us to produce real-time snapshot reports of the financial positions of our clients
  • The biggest concern / issue is QuickBooks Online could be better at leaving a "footprint" of who made what entries or adjustments.
  • As mentioned before, we are able to have staff remain in the office while still providing a high touch client service.
They all have basically the same features so it becomes what is highly used by our clients and easiest to navigate.
We have found that the usefulness of QuickBooks depends upon the characteristics of the client and their business. There are other programs we have found to be more useful in the service industry (i.e. restaurants) than QuickBooks. But overall it does well.

Using QuickBooks Online

The ability for us and clients to both be in the system, see the entries each of us have made and also direct a client to certain reports and views is very helpful as compared to getting an accountant's copy or getting a date in time copy that then needs to be uploaded by the client after we make adjustments. Still, the in ability to prevent someone from deleting an entry without knowing who or what was deleted is frustrating.
