Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online Advanced
I provide accounting and bookkeeping support to several construction companies as an independent contractor. QuickBooks Online Advanced is used as the primary accounting platform to provide tax accounting information, track income and expenses, and to provide data used for financial planning.
Pros
- Monitoring of bank accounts for current balances
- Tracking bank transactions
- Profit Loss reporting
- Customized reports
Cons
- Easier workflow for entering vendor payments and customer income directly from the bank feed
- Batch transaction deletion
- Allows for good transfer of financial data to clients
- Allows clients to see QBO and to make changes themselves
In my opinion, QuickBooks Online can be tedious and cankerous. Not everyone has the patience and wherewithal to manage QBO. For most, the initial training is straightforward and is good; however, there is a longer learning curve that is worked through using experience, trial and error, and Google.
We are a cloud-based company where 100% of our employees are virtual. QBO works great in that respect.
QuickBooks Online Advanced allows for contractor specific add-ons such as CoConstruct and Buildertrend.
QBO Advanced does not have the multi-unit capabilities that QB Enterprise offers. Xero is not capable of handling the contractor apps.
