Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I provide accounting and bookkeeping support to several construction companies as an independent contractor. QuickBooks Online Advanced is used as the primary accounting platform to provide tax accounting information, track income and expenses, and to provide data used for financial planning.

Allows for good transfer of financial data to clients
Allows clients to see QBO and to make changes themselves

Alternatives Considered

Xero and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

QBO Advanced does not have the multi-unit capabilities that QB Enterprise offers. Xero is not capable of handling the contractor apps.

Likelihood to Recommend

Works great for smaller or medium sized businesses that do not have expanded COAs. The location/class feature is really not good for locations/classes in which one location has a significantly different COA than another. Better to have two different QBO accounts.

Good platform for contractors when used with contractor specific add-ons.
