Overall Satisfaction with Rafflecopter
As a magazine, we like to reach as many potential readers as possible. Occasionally this will mean bundling some of our information into an E Book and releasing it in order to get new subscribers and readers (and visits to our social media).
Reaching new users and getting them to like, subscribe and share their contact information can be tricky. This is where a product/service like Raffelcopter comes in handy.
Reaching new users and getting them to like, subscribe and share their contact information can be tricky. This is where a product/service like Raffelcopter comes in handy.
- Harvest new email addresses
- Encourage social media engagement
- Motivate hesitant potential clients (readers in our case)
- We love a free version of every product for when you want to temporarily scale back with many cool features (we know that some features will disappear but don't pay wall too much).
- There could be a 33% price drop
- Have a contest style option where all users who meet the criteria can get the prize (in our case an electronic download).
- Gather emails
- Get people to visit social media channels
- Easy design/layout options
- We were able to get some engagement and some new contacts.
- Small boost in social media visits
We now make use of WordPress plugins which are cheaper options (free) and will only return when our needs become more sophisticated. A paid for product is always going to have more functionality like adding more options, smarter AI, adding better graphics but...free is a hard price to beat when you are not making use of the product regularly.

Using Rafflecopter
1 - As the Editor, i sometimes want to gather more contacts, readers, email addresses via a small giveaway to grow our reach. Normally, this will relate to the giveaway of a digital product rather than a physical one as we have many readers all over and are happy to share our digital products (which we feel are very helpful and informative).
1 - I primarily make use of the software myself to organise the giveaways as I am most familiar with it on the team. Others will look over my shoulder and we will discuss the look, feel and content etc as a team but I will click the clicks. I am an average computer user with perhaps slightly above average skill in adjusting to new software etc.
- Grow our contacts (potential readers)
- Grow our subscriber base (immediate readers)
- Get more visits to our social media platforms (and therefore increased engagement).
- We have tried to make all who enter a winner (since we freely give away our digital content quite regularly).
- If some additional features are added we will be able to make use of it to give multiple entrants the same "prize" or giveaway item.
Evaluating Rafflecopter and Competitors
- Product Features
We had a need (to build our database and readership base via giveaways) and a quick Google search returned very positive results for Raffelcopter. After looking over a few reviews we decided it looked like a product that could work for us. We wanted to dip our toes in and see if this was a new way we could pursue in our organisation to grow our readership.
I don't think we would do anything differently. The product is a good one and met most of our needs but not all (100%) and so our evaluation and selection process was fine. It was only after making use of the system that we realised we had slightly different needs.
