Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT
We transitioned from another donor management software that was woefully inadequate. NXT provides all the tools we need as soon as we log it. It reminds you of the donors you haven't seen in awhile, it shows you your trends - good and bad - all which help us to run our development office better!
- Your portfolio is presented to you right when you log in. You don't have to wade through and search the database; everything is at your fingertips.
- The "opportunities' list allows us to track where all over our requests are in the pipeline -- and you can manage/update them all with the click of a hyperlink.
- Zoning in on our lapsed donors has never been easier. NXT provides a trend chart that is linked to a list of lapsed donors so you can follow up quickly.
- New features are added all the time. You don't have to wait for a major software update release.
- I look forward to being able to export reports to excel from Raiser's Edge NXT.
- There isn't a easy way to send emails from Raiser's Edge NXT that log to the constituents record. Right now, there is a lot of copying and pasting OR doing it from the database view.

We are in our first year of using Raiser's Edge NXT so we are still on a learning curve. However, the fact that it shows me my portfolio (with help tags on each one like: lapsed donor, no meeting, etc.) right when I log in, it reminds me that relationships are at the core of my work. The software is built to undergird the building and maintaining of relationships.
We also use Financial Edge (Database View and NXT), Blackbaud Merchant Services, and Luminate Online. It is very helpful to have so many of our major systems linked. It helps us to do a lot less manual entry -- which reduces so many errors. All of our gift entries from Raiser's Edge is passed easily to Financial Edge for the bookkeeper to approve. Also, all of our gifts given online through our website are processed through Luminate Online -- no more manual entry!
It has been great to move to Raiser's Edge. I've worked with several systems over the years and Blackbaud's products have always turned out to be the best in the nonprofit world. Raiser's Edge was built for nonprofits -- not a business-based CRM shoe-horned for a nonprofit. The terminology and processes are consistent with the work we do.
