Overall Satisfaction with Remote Desktop Manager
Between Windows, Unix, VMware, etc., there are numerous server types to connect to from my client PC. I've searched for many years for a product that can do all of this without me having to rely on different applications for each. When I first heard of Remote Desktop Manager I was skeptical it could live up to its claim of such platform connectivity. In the end, my feeling was correct.
- Is regularly updated
- Provides connectivity for the most common platforms
- Connectivity to platforms in general
- Stability overall
- Didn't go beyond the testing stage due to problems with the product
- Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan)
Being a mostly Microsoft shop, RDCMan is the standard method of connecting and managing Windows servers. It knows its job and does it well. It's rare that I experience problems with the app. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Devolutions' product. Devolutions' Remote Desktop Manager took long to setup and never quite worked exactly as it needed to in order to be a threat to Microsoft's RDCMan.
