Overall Satisfaction with Revit

Revit is used at my company to do full BIM modeling of MEPFR systems in buildings for production of construction drawings and for coordination of building design with Architects and Structural Engineers.
  • Revit is great for pointing out clashes between systems in a building.
  • Revit is great at increasing production speed by allowing the integration of third-party tools.
  • Revit is a great visual tool in the industry.
  • Scheduling in Revit can be tricky and frustrating. I'd love to see more tools to make it easier.
  • Revit on servers can spotty and slow down production.
  • Copying from project to project can be improved to be more compatible
  • 20% increase in ROI on mid-size projects.
  • 30% increase in ROI on large projects.
  • An overall positive trend in production efficiency pushing ROI up.
Revit brings collaboration to projects on a whole other level never seen in AutoCAD. Revit allows not only another live perspective of projects but also a huge advantage in simultaneous user production of drawings.
Revit is well suited for firms trying to increase production speed in developing well-coordinated building designs. It is best utilized where there are several systems designs going on in a project, and it gets even better with larger size projects. It may not be the best choice for smaller footprint projects or remodels, since project set up may take more time than actual production work.
