Overall Satisfaction with Revit
We are a mechanical contractor located in the midwest that uses Revit in our BIM department for coordination of new and/or existing structures. Revit allows us to model our piping systems and to coordinate with other trades in order to mitigate problems in the office and avoid finding them out in the field.
- Revit is the basis of our design software workflow.
- Revit does not crash nearly as often as softwares that were used in the past.
- Revit is GREAT for collaboration.
- Revit continues to get better with every release.
- The ROI is hard to calculate since it is such a large part of how we do work now.
- It is part of what allows us to use robotic total station layout and to fabricate systems.
AutoCAD was great back in the day but had such a wide range of uses. Revit is based in construction and runs better for that function because of it. If I was to have to switch back to AutoCAD I cannot imagine how much more time I would have to spend in order to produce the same results that I can with Revit. Trimble SysQue has been a great add on for our Revit program. It is not an alternative, it is really in addition to. Each morning when I fire up Revit I am firing up SysQue right along with it.
