Overall Satisfaction with Roadmunk
Roadmunk was specifically used within the Product Management department to solve a particular problem we were having in synching individual roadmaps with a collective department roadmap that could be shared with the entire organization. Roadmunk proved adaptable enough that it allowed for individual PMs to manage their product roadmap while making it easy enough for the department head to share a complete look of the department's work with the C-level suite.
- Collaboration – Roadmunk makes it very easy to work and edit within a team structure.
- User Experience – The usability of the product made it quite easy for the entirety of the team to hit the ground running (i.e. very little training was required).
- Rollups – Each product line and therefore each product owner could easily focus on their particular roadmap without having to sort through the master roadmap making it highly efficient, while at the same time making it quite easy to pull all updates into one high-level document.
- Simplicity – This is both a blessing and a curse for Roadmunk. On one hand, it is easy enough for anyone to use, on the other, it misses quite a bit of the nuance associated with individual tasks due to its cookie-cutter inputs.
- Design – This layout gets the job done, but there is nothing flashy about what it does.
- Increased visibility into the department's work
- Reduced time spent on weekly product updates
- Drove more collaboration within the department
- Aha!
To be quite transparent, Roadmunk was the cheaper option. However, it also provided a ready-to-use solution for the team that required little to no training to get up and running. It provided the needed results almost from Day 1. Aha! had the more robust feature set and the flashy work products that turn heads, but it the end it was not the right fit at the right time.
