Overall Satisfaction with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate

We use Sage 300 as our ERP system. It is mainly used by the accounting department as a GL and reporting system. We have added Timberscan to Timberline as a conduit to approve invoices and load the backup into the Timberline Sage 300 system. The system is our single source of truth.
  • All the backup is saved in the system.
  • Job costing module is helpful for the business.
  • Bank reconciliations done on the system.
  • The AP Module is great to track invoices.
  • Reporting can be improved.
  • A running total on the GL can be beneficial.
  • Integration with Microsoft products for reporting will be beneficial.
  • The ERP system is our single source of truth
  • Better reporting will be ideal
  • Helped immensely with expense management
Both ERP systems are great for construction and real estate companies. They both have job costing modules that are essential for our business. We bought a company that has Sage 300 X3 however we decided to use Sage 300 ERP instead. I believe the X3 is a better system however the executives did not want to change the head office system.
The Sage 300 product is well designed for construction and real estate companies where the job costing module is very beneficial for the business. Other industries can also use Sage 300, however, there might be more appropriate systems that can be better suited for some industries. The reporting modules need improvement.
