Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAC for dashboarding and presentation of KPIs. One of the best features is that the content can be set up for automatic publication at regular intervals so that the listed contacts receive e-mails of a PDF/PPT of the selected portions of the story. SAC visualizations and tables give users simple access to deep insights within the underlying data source, and they also offer the ability to generate predictions. The predictive abilities are still in their infancy, and they do not offer much flexibility for modifying the way the predictive model is working, but this does make the predictive tools easier for end users to utilize. R integration allows more extensive visualizations and some advanced statistical models.

Usability

SAP Analytics Cloud is user-friendly overall, but it definitely requires training on how to navigate all of the menus and how to create charts. It can be hard to remember which features are in the builder sidebar vs which features are accessed via the chart's widget itself. After using SAP Analytics Cloud regularly I have become more familiar with this but I do still wish it was consolidated into one place.

SAC is well suited to KPIs and Dashboarding, especially in cases where the user wishes to organize small subsets of data into sections of a story which are then linked together by a common dashboard or landing page. It is also well suited for users who access it via mobile phone as it has mobile responsive page abilities. It is not well suited to intense Predictive Forecasting / Statistical Analysis.
